The Account Balance Report provides GL Accounts insights; including both in-period and cumulative views of changes to account balances over time. This report provides detailed account activity, and the ability to drill-down into Journal Entries for a given account and validate transactions against other sources within the Ordway platform. Since these accounts reflect a financial source of truth, historical account balances should not change once a financial period is closed.
Report Features:
- View a custom timeframe by adjusting the Start Date and End Date, or select from a preset list of Financial Periods.
- When the Display Cumulative toggle is selected, the report shows the sum of all Journal Entries for a given account from the beginning of time up to a given month. When this toggle is not selected, the report shows Journal Entries for a given month.
- Click a value in the report to open an Account Balance Detail report in a new tab; displaying the underlying Journal Entries, dates and amounts.
Run Account Balance Report
Navigate to Menu > Reports > Account Balance Report.
By default, the report displays account activity over the previous 12 months, with the Display Cumulative toggle selected.
Filter Report
Use the available Filters to customize the report.
Click Run to run the report with selected criteria.
