Follow these best practices within Ordway Reports to improve the quality of report data and reduce unnecessary processing time.
Filter a Report
Running Ordway reports without utilizing the Filter feature can lead to long processing times as well as unnecessary data clogging the information you need the most. A wide range of filters are available to provide the data most pertinent to your business needs.
Click Filter at the top of any Ordway report to customize the report data. Available filters vary based on the specific report opened.
Example:
Filter Examples
To review Credits for a specific time frame, run the Account Balance Report. Use the filters to isolate the desired time frame and select Credit as the Account Name.
To examine collected Sales Tax, run the Sales Tax Report. Use the filters to isolate specific Tax Names. Multiple Tax Names can be selected. Running the report without specifying specific Tax Names may lead to a session timeout or processing error due to report size.
This example filters 4 separate Tax Names:
Schedule a Report
Scheduled Reports are a useful tool to avoid rebuilding a report with only the data you want. In addition, scheduling a report to be delivered via email on a regular basis saves you time and effort.
The Schedule button is available at the top of each Ordway report. Custom Reports can also be scheduled.
Scheduled Report Maximum File Size
When scheduling a Custom Report, the size limit is 100k records, as the file is sent as an email attachment.

Export a Report
Report exports may fail via download or email delivery if the report is too large. Ordway recommends exporting essential data only to avoid export failure.
Exported Report Maximum File Size
Export up to 1M records. The UI count will reflect up to 100k (above 100K reflects as 100k+).
Click Export at the top of any Ordway report to export the report data. Select the Export file type from the available drop-down menu.
