Coupons can be applied to a Product or Plan to offer a discount on a specific charge in a Subscription or on an Order. Coupons come with their own Discount Code and can be configured as a Fixed Amount Off, Percentage Off, or as a Free Trial.
Each Coupon has its own Discount Criteria where it can be associated with Any Product or Plan, a Specific Plan, or a Specific Product.
An example of a Coupon, would be offering your customer a free two-month trial at the beginning of a subscription.

Credits are defined as a transaction that reduces the customer balance or reduces an Invoice amount. Credits can be issued in response to a service outage, to correct an invoice error, or to handle an overpayment. Credits can be applied to an open invoice or it can remain as a positive balance on an account and applied to a future invoice.
Credit transactions do not support Revenue or Billing Schedules, so the credit amount will impact the defined GL Accounts in the month posted. Read more about Credits.
