Syncing of desired contacts from Salesforce
Prerequisites:
Enable the dynamic object mapping for Contracts
- Create a Custom field with the return type text “Sync From Salesforce” on Contact customization Object.
- On the Integrations page , map this field to “Sync to Ordway”
- Now, Create an Account on Salesforce > Add Contacts > Identify the Contacts you want to sync to ordway and check the box “Sync to Ordway”
- Now, Create an opportunity > Create a Contract > Assign the desired contacts as Billing and Shipping Contact to the contract
- Click on the Sync button on Salesforce.
- Contact flagged as true to be synced to Ordway will only sync.
Points to Note:
- When the contract is synced, any Billing /Shipping contact associated with the contract will be synced even if the contacts are NOT flagged true for syncing into Ordway.
- Once the Contract is already synced to Ordway, any additional contact created on Salesforce Account and marked true for syncing will NOT be synced unless we manually sync the contract OR have sync automation for customers, contact turned ON.
- Any updates made to Billing/Shipping contact of the contract will be synced to Ordway when contract is synced . However the original billing and/or shipping contact which is no longer linked to Ordway Contract WILL NOT get automatically deleted.
For eg: A Contract was originally linked to Contact A (Billing Contact), Contact B ( Shipping Contact). Now, Contract gets updated to Contact C as the Billing Contact. Contact C will get synced to Ordway when the contract is re-synced. BUT Contact A will still remain in Ordway.
- When a Contract does not have any Billing or Shipping Contact , if the account has billing/shipping contact assigned, contract assumes that billing and the shipping contact.
