Analytics
Analytics enhancements improve dashboard organization, accessibility, and loading performance while providing additional ways to explore business metrics.
Multiple Tabs for Analytics Dashboards
ENHANCEMENT
You can now create multiple tabs within a single Analytics dashboard to organize dashboard content into separate views.
Add tabs with custom names and switch between them to access different sets of dashboard content without creating separate dashboards for each view.
Looker Dashboard for Legacy Dashboard Metrics
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now provides a Looker-based dashboard that brings key metrics and visualizations from the legacy home dashboard into Looker.
The dashboard includes views for Payments, MRR, ARR, Customers, and Contracts, helping you analyze payment activity, recurring revenue, customer trends, and contract performance.
Some dashboard metrics may differ from the legacy dashboard because of differences in calculation logic, data sources, and reporting methods.
Edit Public Dashboards
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now allows users to edit public dashboards in Ordway Analytics. This makes it easier to update and maintain shared dashboards without having to recreate them.
Improved Loading for Report List and Dashboard Pages
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now provides improved loading performance for the Report List and Dashboard pages, helping users access reports and dashboards more efficiently.
Billing
Billing enhancements make it easier to find and manage eligible invoices when applying payments and credits.
Find Invoices Faster When Applying Payments and Credits
ENHANCEMENT
You can now search, filter, sort, and paginate invoices when applying payments and credits. This makes it easier to find the right invoices, especially when you have a large number of invoices to review.
These options are available when you create, edit, or apply payments and credits:
- Payments: New, Edit, and Apply Now
- Credits: New, Edit, and Apply Now
When applying a credit, the invoice list shows only unpaid invoices with a status of Posted or Partially Paid, helping you focus on invoices eligible for credit application.
Finance Integrations
Finance integration updates expand payout synchronization and field mapping across QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, and NetSuite, with additional tax handling for Debit Memos.
QuickBooks Class Support for Payouts
ENHANCEMENT
You can now assign QuickBooks Classes to payout deposit transactions when syncing Payouts from Ordway to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Map a Payout custom field to Class Name in the QuickBooks Online Payout Field Mapping. Ordway uses the mapped class to assign the corresponding QuickBooks Class to the individual deposit lines.
If no class is mapped or the mapped field is blank, Payouts continue to sync without a class, preserving the existing behavior.
Intacct Custom Field Support
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway-Intacct sync now supports Intacct custom fields in the field mapping page.
You can now view and map Intacct custom fields to corresponding Ordway fields, allowing data to be synchronized to custom fields in Sage Intacct through the integration.
Tax Calculation and Association on Debit Memos
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now supports tax association and automatic tax calculation on Debit Memos, similar to existing invoice tax handling.
Debit Memos can now include applicable tax amounts, reducing the need for manual tax adjustments and improving the accuracy of billing adjustments and tax reporting.
NetSuite Support for Payouts
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now supports syncing Payouts to NetSuite as Deposit transactions.
The synced deposit includes the payout's associated payment transactions, processing fee surcharges, and processing fees. These amounts are organized into the corresponding Payments, Other Deposits, and Cash Back sections in NetSuite.
Revenue Recognition
Revenue Recognition enhancements extend foreign exchange adjustment support to Orders, Debit Memo payments, and Credits.
Realized FX Gain/Loss for Debit Memo Payments
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now creates a Realized FX Gain/Loss adjustment when a Debit Memo is applied to a payment using a different exchange rate from the Debit Memo.
The adjustment is created only when there is an exchange-rate difference and automatic journal entries are enabled. The adjustment is posted in the base currency and associated with the payment.
If the applied amount changes or the Debit Memo is removed, Ordway updates or reverses the related adjustment accordingly. Existing invoice-to-payment realized FX behavior remains unchanged.
Deferred Revenue FX Adjustments for Orders
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now supports Deferred Revenue Foreign Exchange (FX) Adjustments for Orders, extending the existing functionality available for subscriptions.
FX adjustments are calculated for each order line based on the difference between the exchange rate used on the invoice and the revenue posting rate. An FX schedule is also available for order revenue schedules to provide visibility into these adjustments.
When an invoice is reversed or a revenue journal entry is deleted, Ordway reverses or removes the related FX adjustments, allowing them to be recalculated during subsequent invoice or revenue journal processing.
Realized FX Gain/Loss Support for Credits
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now supports automatic Realized FX Gain/Loss adjustments for Credits applied to invoices or Debit Memos when their exchange rates differ.
When enabled, Ordway generates the corresponding adjustment journal entry in the company's base currency and associates it with the Credit.
If the applied amount changes or an invoice or Debit Memo is removed, Ordway updates or reverses the related FX adjustment accordingly. Existing realized FX adjustment behavior for payments and refunds remains unchanged.
Payments
Payment's enhancements improve the PayNow mobile experience and simplify lockbox reconciliation.
Process lockbox deposits as batches with itemized checks
ENHANCEMENT
Cash Application now handles lockbox deposits that arrive as a single batch of multiple checks.
You can work with the whole deposit as one transaction and drill into the individual checks underneath it — no more reconciling each check in isolation.
How it works
- Import your lockbox file and Ordway groups it into a batch (the deposit) with its itemized checks listed beneath.
- Ordway validates the batch total against the matching bank ledger amount, so you can confirm the deposit reconciles before applying anything.
- Expand a batch to review its individual checks, each with its suggested invoice match.
- Apply or ignore each check independently.
- Checks that need a closer look are flagged automatically (e.g. overpayment, short pay, possible duplicate), and you can apply or ignore checks in bulk.
- The batch moves to Applied automatically once every check has been applied.
Why it matters
Batch processing makes lockbox deposits easier to reconcile. Confirm the deposit against the bank ledger, then review and apply individual checks while retaining the context of the overall deposit.
Mobile View Enhancements for the PayNow Portal
ENHANCEMENT
The PayNow Portal now provides an improved mobile experience, making it easier for customers to complete payments using mobile devices across all supported payment gateways. |
The updated mobile layout is optimized for smaller screens, while the existing desktop and web experience remains unchanged.
Customer Benefit: Customers can enjoy a smoother, more convenient payment experience on mobile devices, with a layout designed to make payment completion easier on smaller screens.
Platform
Platform enhancements improve Custom Object management, API flexibility, workflow email capabilities, and MCP-based interactions.
Saved Table Views for Custom Objects
ENHANCEMENT
Custom Objects now support table configurations, making it easier to keep your preferred view when working with records.
You can now:
- Save filters for each Custom Object.
- Retain your preferred column widths and sorting.
- Use saved table configurations for Custom Object record lists.
This update also fixes an issue where clicking Save Filter after applying filters could cause the Custom Object page to appear blank instead of saving the filter successfully.
Post-Process Activities for Custom Objects
ENHANCEMENT
Post-process activities for Custom Objects (CO), Custom Object Actions (COA), and Custom Object Records (COR) now run after the transaction is committed.
Webhooks, workflows, and audit logs are processed after a successful commit, preventing them from being triggered by transactions that are later rolled back. This also ensures that webhooks and workflows receive the committed transaction context when they retrieve the updated data.
Formula fields and integration events remain part of the transaction processing.
The change applies to Create, Edit, Delete, and Clone operations and includes related audit logs, events, integration logs, and sync processing.
Custom Object Records API URL Update
ENHANCEMENT
The Custom Object Records API now requires the custom object's API name in the URL for record operations.
This ensures requests are associated with the correct custom object when multiple objects use the same document numbering.
Update your API requests to use these URL patterns:
- List/Create: /api/v1/custom_object_records/{custom_object_api_name}
- View/Update/Delete: /api/v1/custom_object_records/{custom_object_api_name}/{id}
- Bulk operations: No change; bulk endpoints already use the custom object API name.
Customer Action: Update integrations that use the previous Custom Object Records API URLs to include the custom object API name. This is a breaking API change for requests using the previous URL format.
Custom Email Templates for Workflows and Send Email
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now supports reusable, context-aware Custom Email Templates that can be managed and used across workflows and email actions.
You can create, edit, and manage custom templates under Manage Templates and use them in Workflow email actions. Templates automatically populate information from the record that triggers the workflow.
You can also send emails using enabled custom templates from the Customer details page or customer list, with the option to customize the subject, recipients, and email content before sending.
Existing Workflow email functionality and system email templates remain unchanged.
MCP Send Email Tool with Default and Custom Templates
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now provides an MCP Send Email tool that uses a default email template when sending emails. You can also provide a custom template when a different email format or content is required.
This distinguishes it from the separate Custom Email Templates enhancement for Workflows and customer email actions.
Credit and Refund Tool Support in MCP
ENHANCEMENT
Ordway now extends MCP support to Credits and Refunds, allowing users to interact with credit and refund operations through MCP tools.
This enhancement expands the available MCP capabilities for managing financial transactions through natural language interactions.
