Report Description & Purpose
This report tracks changes to Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) on a month to month basis grouped by the Movement Type. Only recurring charges are included in this report. This report relies on data from both the Customer and Subscription level.
Transaction Currency shown is Base Currency. Refer to the Filters section to view transactions by Transaction Currency.
Note: The data source for all MRR/ARR Movement reports is refreshed every 24 hours at midnight. This means that the data is not instantaneously refreshed. Therefore, we recommend only running an MRR/ARR report 24 hours after data has been adjusted. All other Analytics reports update instantly.

Report Calculations Explained
- Opening - Ending Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of the previous month and the starting ARR for the current month.
- New - ARR for new customers that have activated subscriptions based on the Contract Effective Date (Booked ARR) in the given period. New customers in this case are defined as those which did not have any active subscriptions prior to that period. This data is retrieved at the Subscription, not the Customer level.
- Expansion - ARR increases for existing customers. This might happen if a customer signs up for a new subscription, or if an existing subscription is modified in a way that increases ARR (e.g. adding charges, increasing quantity or price, etc.).
- Contraction - ARR decreases for existing customers. This might happen if an existing subscription is modified in a way that decreases ARR (e.g. removing charges, decreasing quantity or price, etc.), or if a subscription is cancelled or expires while the customer has at least one remaining active subscription.
- Churn - Reductions in MRR for churned customers. Based on subscriptions that are cancelled or expired and the customer has no active subscriptions beyond that period.
- End of Period - ARR at the end of a given period. This is calculated as:
Opening + New + Expansion - Contraction - Churn.
