Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) provides an added layer of security for organizations using Ordway. This article covers enabling MFA within Ordway for your organization.
At a future date, Ordway will require MFA for all users as an extra layer of security.
Enable MFA
Complete the following steps to enable MFA for your organization.
Precondition:
The user must have Edit access to General Settings in order to enable MFA.
Steps:
- Navigate to Menu > Settings > General Settings. There are two MFA settings for this feature.
- Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) - When active, this setting enables the organization with the MFA security layer option. The Authentication requirement can be skipped upon login unless enforcement is enabled as explained in step 3.
Next Steps:
- To make MFA required for all users, proceed to step 3.
- To keep MFA optional for all users, Save the General Settings and proceed to step 4.
- Enforce MFA for Users - When active, this setting requires all users within the same organization to use MFA. Only use this feature when enabling all users within your organization.
- When MFA is optional and users do not want to be prompted to set up MFA upon each login, an Admin can disable the Enable MFA toggle for specific users via Menu > Setup > Organization Structure > Users.
- Once MFA has been established for your organization, log out and then back into Ordway to setup MFA & refer to the following article for authentication instructions. This article should also be shared with your organization to complete MFA setup.
