Overview
The Self-Service Checkout purchase journey lets you purchase subscription plans directly from a website through an embedded checkout experience. This article explains how to select subscription plans, complete your purchase, and view your subscriptions and payment history.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that:
- Self-Service Checkout is configured.
- The subscription plans are configured and published for Self-Service Checkout.
- The embedded iframe is added to the website.
Purchase Journey
The Self-Service Checkout purchase journey consists of the following stages:
- Select plan(s) to purchase.
- Log in or sign up.
- Enter payment information and complete checkout.
- View subscriptions and payments.
The following sections describe each stage of the purchase journey.
Select Plan(s) to Purchase
The embedded iframe is the first page you see on the website. It displays the subscription plans that are available for purchase.
You can select one or more subscription plans.
- The start date that you enter for the first selected plan becomes the subscription start date.
- You can increase or decrease the quantity of a plan and its individual charges.
- You can't remove individual charges.
- Click Add to Cart to continue.
Log in or Sign Up
If you already have a Customer Portal account, log in using your email address and password.
If you don't have an account, select Sign Up and provide the required information to create one.
After you create an account, you can:
- Purchase subscription plans.
- View your subscriptions.
- View your payment history.
- Sign in to the Customer Portal using the same credentials for future purchases.
After you log in, you're returned to the Plans page, where you can add more plans or proceed to checkout.
Payment Information and Checkout
The Subscription Confirmation page displays the subscription plans that you selected.
Before continuing, you can:
- Review your selected plans.
- Update the subscription start date.
- Modify plan and charge quantities.
Click Proceed to continue to checkout.
Shipping Details
Your shipping information is automatically populated using the Shipping Contact Details that you provided when creating your account.
Payment Method
Enter your payment information.
You can:
- Add a new credit card.
- Select an existing saved credit card, if one is available.
Click Next to continue.
Confirm and Pay
Review your payment summary and purchase details. Click Pay to complete your purchase.
After your payment is successful, you're redirected to the Plans page.
Self-Service Checkout Views
Subscriptions
The Subscriptions page displays all your active subscriptions.
You can currently view your subscriptions but can't view subscription details or perform subscription management actions.
If you have an abandoned purchase, you can also view the associated draft subscription. Only one abandoned purchase can exist at a time.
Payments
The Payments page displays your payment history, allowing you to review completed payment transactions.
Result
After you complete your purchase, you can:
- View your active subscriptions.
- Review your payment history.
- Sign in to the Customer Portal using the same account to manage your subscriptions and access invoices, usage, and payments.
Notes
- The account that you create during Self-Service Checkout can also be used to access the Customer Portal.
- You can sign in to the Customer Portal to view your subscriptions, invoices, usage, and payment history.
