Affirm Payment Method

Affirm is a popular payment method in the US and Canada that allows customers to split purchases over a series of payments. Depending on the cart order size, Affirm presents customers with options to: Pay in 4, monthly installments, or both.

• Pay in 4: customers pay for purchases in four or fewer interest-free, bi-weekly payments over an 8 week term. Available for cart sizes between $50 and $250*.
• Monthly Installments: customers pay for purchases over a longer term of up to 36 months, which might include interest. Available for cart sizes between 100 USD and 30,000 USD*.

* Term lengths and cart ranges are determined by Affirm and might change at their discretion.

To pay with Affirm, customers are redirected to the Affirm site, where they authorize the payment by agreeing to the terms of a payment plan, then return to your website to complete the order.

Supported Currencies: USD or CAD

Preconditions:

Stripe must be an active Payment Gateway in order to enable Affirm payments.

Enable Affirm Payments

Steps: 

1. Navigate to Menu > Setup > Payments > Payment Gateway. 
2. Select the Stripe Payment Gateway.
3. Enable the checkbox for Affirm.
   
4. Once enabled, Ordway Customer’s end users will be able to see an additional payment method option labeled Affirm.
   
5. Enter the Shipping Details and Click Continue to Submit Payment. This will take the user to an external Affirm page where the user has to Login with their mobile number associated with the account. 
6. They will be asked to choose a plan for paying the invoice amount. 
7. Then the user has to authorize the payment. Once authorized, the user is brought back to Ordway’s Payment success page.

   Note:

   If the payment is between $50 and $30,000, only then this affirm option should be visible. Beyond this range, the affirm option will not be present. This is a Stripe restriction as discussed above.
