Dynamic Object Mapping lets you map Ordway customers to a custom Account object in Salesforce. This configuration requires a custom Salesforce object, field mappings in both directions, and the appropriate API configuration. You must also add lookup fields to Opportunities and Contracts so they can reference the custom Account object.

Enable the Required API Configuration
The supplied configuration identifies two methods for enabling or disabling the Ordway and Salesforce APIs.
Option 1: Use Feature Management
This method is identified in the source material for Salesforce instances that expire frequently, such as scratch organizations.
- In Salesforce, open Setup.
- Navigate to Custom Settings.
- Open Feature Management.
- Click Edit.
- Select or clear the Use Ordway Subscription API checkbox, as required.
- Click Save.
Option 2: Use the Salesforce Developer Console
The source material provides the following Apex method calls.
To enable the Ordway platform API, execute:
| OrdwayLabs.OrdwaySystem.useOrdwayPlatformAPIforContract(); |
To enable the Salesforce platform API, execute:
| OrdwayLabs.OrdwaySystem.useOrdwaySalesforceAPIforContract(); |
Important: The supplied method names contain forContract. Confirm with the Ordway implementation or engineering team that these are the correct methods for the customer/account Dynamic Object Mapping workflow before executing them.
Add Lookup Fields to Opportunities and Contracts
Create lookup fields that reference the custom Salesforce Account object so Opportunities and Contracts can associate with the appropriate customer account.
Add a Lookup Field to the Opportunity
- Configure a lookup field on the Opportunity object that references the custom Salesforce Account object.
- Ensure that the field is available on the Opportunity record page.
Add a Lookup Field to the Contract
- Configure a lookup field on the Contract object that references the custom Salesforce Account object.
- Ensure that the field is available on the Contract record page.
Create and Sync a Contract
After configuring the custom object, field mappings, Dynamic Object Mapping, API configuration, and lookup fields:
- Create a Contract in Salesforce.
- Associate the Contract with the appropriate custom Account record.
- Sync the Contract to Ordway.
