Summary
The Ordway→QuickBooks customer interface failed for 5 records after emails were removed on the Ordway customers. QuickBooks enforces an email format validation (must contain @ and a dot), so payloads with blank/invalid emails are rejected and appear in Ordway as Integration Status: Failed.
In short: QuickBooks requires a syntactically valid email on these incoming customer records; removing the email causes the sync to fail.
Symptoms
- In Customers list, affected records show Integration Failed.
- Tooltip/logs reference email validation (e.g., “Primary Email Address must contain @ and .”).
- These failures started after emails were removed from the Ordway customer profiles.
Root Cause - QuickBooks rejects customers whose Primary Email is missing or malformed. When Ordway sends a customer payload with an empty/invalid email field, the QuickBooks API validation fails and returns an error, leaving the customer in Failed state on the Ordway side.
