Issue
The user attempted to update payment PMT-14170 to include a missing $10 processing fee. Although the change appeared to save successfully, the fee was removed after the page refreshed.
Root Cause
Payment PMT-14170 has an associated Journal Entry in May 2025. Since the May 2025 financial period has already been closed, modifications to the payment transaction fee are not permitted.
Expected Behavior
When a payment is linked to a Journal Entry in a closed financial period, changes to the transaction fee will not be persisted, even if the update initially appears to save.
Resolution
No system issue was identified. The behavior is expected because the payment belongs to a closed accounting period. To make fee-related adjustments, the associated financial period would need to be reopened and updated according to accounting policies.
