Import Data in Ordway

Ordway provides two tools for importing data in bulk:

• Import Wizard — a guided import experience that helps you prepare, map, review, and import data.
• Traditional Import Tool — a simpler file-based import process for supported objects.

Choose the import method that best fits your data, workflow, and level of guidance required.

Choose an Import Method

Import Wizard

Use the Import Wizard when you want a guided experience for importing supported Ordway objects.

The Import Wizard provides features such as:

• Guided import steps
• Field mapping
• Saved field mappings
• Data review before import
• Error identification and resolution
• Import history
• Import results in the Ordway UI
• Support for multi-sheet import files for applicable objects

You can access the Import Wizard by navigating to:

Menu > Operations > Import Data

The Import Wizard supports imports of up to 25,000 records per import.

Traditional Import Tool

Use the Traditional Import Tool when you need a straightforward, file-based import process for a supported object.

The Traditional Import Tool lets you upload an import file and download the import results.

To access the Traditional Import Tool, navigate to the object you want to import and select:

More > Imports

For example: Menu > Invoices > More > Imports

The Traditional Import Tool requires you to format the import file before uploading it.
