The Customer Status toggle indicates active and inactive Customers. Toggle the Status field ON to indicate an Active Customer. Toggle the Status field OFF to indicate an Inactive Customer.
What can an Inactive Customer do?
Ordway does not restrict a user from taking actions on an inactive customer such as generating statements or invoices or creating a quote. Users often times need to generate historical invoices or statements for a customer that has already left and is inactive.
In addition, you may want to setup a prospective customer as inactive until they sign a quote. Once they have signed a quote, you can update their status to Active.
Note: Inactive customer may not sync to QBO.
Customer Status Reporting Impact
When a customer is set as inactive, it is reflected in the Status field on the Customers data source in Custom Reports. Changing a Customer status should not impact the results of any standard reports. However, users can add an Additional Filter with this field to any report and the updated status will flow through.
Change Customer Status
Steps:
- Navigate to Menu > Customer Accounts.
- Click Edit from the Actions Column for the desired Customer.
- Toggle the Status ON or OFF as needed.
4. Save when finished.
