Ordway gives users the ability to configure the From and Reply-To addresses on emails sent from Ordway. Since Ordway sends these emails on behalf of our customers and their company domain, it’s essential to implement authentication methods and follow security best practices to ensure you benefit from the following:
- Personalize email messages sent from Ordway with your own organizations’ domain.
- Increase deliverability and reduce business risk from your invoice or collections emails being marked as spam.
- Protect your brand and domain against phishing and spoofing.
This article covers the three email authentication methods and how to set them up in Ordway. These methods have been around for many years and provide more security for your domain but require diligent configuration since they interrelate and complement each other.
- DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) adds an encrypted signature to the header of all your outgoing messages.
- Sender Policy Framework (SPF) specifies which domains can send messages for your organization.
- Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) specifies how your domain handles suspicious emails.
Next, refer to our Setup DKIM & SPF article.
