Users find the Simple Report Builder helpful to run quick Standard Reports with minimal customization. Power users in managing data who need to dig deeper will find our Advanced Report Builder more than capable to meet complex reporting needs. 

When creating a new Report, the Simple Report Builder automatically loads. Click View Advanced Builder to use the advanced report building features.

Best Practices

Advanced Builder Reports automatically enables cell visualization. Turn off Cell Visualization to ensure all fields are visible when creating or editing a report.

Access the Advanced Builder

There are two ways to access the Advanced Builder. 

• Clone a Standard Report
• Create a New Report

Clone a Standard Report

Anytime a Standard Report is cloned, the Report automatically loads the Advanced Report Builder. 

Click Clone from the options menu for any Standard Report. 

Click Edit to change the report as needed. 

The Advanced Builder Loads:

Create a New Report and click Switch to Advanced Builder.

Switch Between Simple & Advanced Report Builder

When switching from the Advanced to the Simple Report builder not all fields, settings, and functionality carry over. Be mindful of this before proceeding. A prompt asks users to confirm before switching between builder options.

Advanced Builder Features

Field Types

Two types of fields are available in the Advanced Builder: 

• Dimensions - Generally a detailed field such as Customer ID, Customer Name, Status.
• Measure - Operate in a similar manner as an Aggregation. Measures can be created from any field.

Display of Objects

Objects are displayed in an accordion fashion. Expand and collapse to view relevant fields under each Object. This example shows an expanded section with several Dimension Field Types already included in the Report.

Click the information icon for any field Object to learn more. 

Filters

A wide variety of Filters are available within the Advanced Builder. Click the Filter By icon to the right of any Object to filter by a field without actually adding the field to the Report.

Group & Aggregate

Click the 3 dot icon to the right of any Object to view group & aggregation options. 

Column & Cell Behavior

Columns

• Drag a column to a different position within the report. 
• Manage Columns through the gear icon to the right of the Column. 
• Columns can be frozen, autosized, or copy values.
• Sort Columns by ascending or descending. 

Cells

All Cell Values can also be drilled down into. The ellipses within each cell contains one or more options.
