Introduction
A payment gateway is an electronic payment processor. It is a gateway to the payment network that allows you to accept electronic forms of payment.
Be sure to review these important notes regarding individual gateway requirements and limitations.
Ordway supports Stripe and CardConnect, PAYARC, and Heartland payment gateways. CardConnect is the preferred Payment Gateway.
Best Practice: Set the Ordway base Currency to match the currency selected in Payment Gateway(s).
Connect Payment Gateway
Steps:
- Navigate to Menu > Setup > Payments > Payment Gateway.
- Select the Payment Gateway from the drop-drop menu and populate the settings for the Gateway.
Note: When a Payment Gateway is being added for the first time, login credentials are required.
Use the Enable Sync Up (Test-mode) toggle to test the setup prior to offering it to customers.
Save when finished.
Add Additional Gateway Account
One or more accounts of the same payment gateway may be set up in Ordway. However, each Customer account may be assigned only one gateway.
Steps:
- Navigate to Menu > Setup > Payments > Payment Gateway.
- Select the appropriate gateway from the drop-down menu and click Connect.
3. Complete the steps provided above in Connect Payment Gateway.
Note: The additional account must have a unique name to differentiate between the gateway accounts.
Verifying Bank Accounts
A Payment Gateway may require bank accounts to be verified by their owners for security. When a new Bank Account is added, two micro deposits are made to that account. The account owner receives an email to verify the deposits. Clicking the link provided in the email allows the user to verify the exact amounts deposited. Read more about verifying accounts.
Edit Payment Gateway
Steps:
- Navigate to Menu > Setup > Payments > Payment Gateway.
- Click Manage next to the desired Gateway.
- Edit the Gateway as needed and Save.
Disable Payment Methods
Ordway Customers have the ability to determine which payment method option to use for processing payments of their end customers. Use the Disable Payment Methods option within the Payment Gateway settings.
Example:
If the Ordway Customer does not want to use Credit Card as the payment method for processing their customers payments, simply enable this checkbox at the gateway level. Then, navigate to the Customer details page and un-check the Credit Card payment method and Save. This will only display the Bank ACH Payment methods.
