Feature Enhancements
Quotes
Reactive Expired Quotes
- You can now reactivate an expired quote via the Reactivate option in the Actions Menu on the Quotes list and detail page.
- During the reactivation process, input a new expiration date for the quote. Once reactivated, the quote reverts to its previous status of Draft or Out for Acceptance, and can be available for editing.
- Previously, when the expiration date on quotes with Accepted status had passed, the system prevented the quote from being countersigned. This behavior has been changed to allow accepted quotes to be countersigned even if the present date is past the expiration date.
Updated Quote System Emails
- The language in the Accepted and Completed quote system email templates has been updated with details such as quote ID, customer name, and company name.
Workflow Automation Enhancements
We launched our newest feature Workflow Automation in August 2021.
Workflows are used to automate business processes and provide users a graphical representation as you build it.
Sending emails, updating records, and sending data to external applications are important parts of your standard processes. Instead of doing this repetitive work manually, configure workflows to complete those tasks for you automatically.

Finance
Automate Foreign Exchange (FX) Realized Gain & Loss Transactions
When invoicing and receiving payments from customers in foreign currencies, the value of these transactions may change based on exchange rate fluctuations against the base currency that has been configured for your company. These changes may result in a foreign currency gain or loss.
To save time during the month-end close process, Ordway enables users to automatically capture those changes in value and post journal entries representing the realized gain or loss for each transaction.
Feature Summary:
-
Automatically generate realized gain & loss Journal Entries for foreign currency transactions.
-
To enable the setting, navigate to Setup > Finance > Multi-currency Accounting.
-
Once enabled, Journal Entries are automatically generated that capture the foreign currency fluctuations for your non-base currency payments and refunds.
-
A new source transaction type, RealizedFXGainLoss, has been added for this type of journal entry.

Change to Journal Entry Generation Configuration
- The option to switch between manual Journal Entry Runs and Automatic Journal Entry Generation has been replaced by an option to enable Automatic Journal Entry Generation. Manual Journal Entry Runs are now always available and are not disabled when Automatic Journal Entry Generation has been enabled.
Real-time Journal Entries are posted for backdated revenue schedule lines when Automatic Journal Entry Generation has been enabled
- When Automatic Journal Entry Generation has been enabled via Menu > Setup > Finance, revenue schedule lines with backdated posting dates are now generated in real-time when contracts are activated or changed with effective dates in prior financial periods.
Avalara - Ability to display multiple line taxes in Invoices Lines
- When an invoice line has multiple tax codes applied, the invoice line tax amounts can be referenced and displayed separately in Invoice PDFs. These line tax amounts can also be referenced in the API.
Note: Tax calculations via Avalara AvaTax integration must be enabled for this feature.
Reporting
Revenue Report
- Custom fields added to the Subscription Charge object are now available for grouping and filtering.
