When a widget is added to the dashboard, a configuration panel appears where users can define the widget settings. The Widget Actions Menu provides additional controls for managing data displayed in a dashboard widget. These options help users export data, adjust table layouts, and refresh widget content.
To access the widget actions menu:
- Navigate to a dashboard.
- Locate the widget.
- Click the three-dot icon (⋮) in the widget header. A context menu appears with the available actions.
Available Widget Actions
The widget menu provides the following options:

| Download Data | Exports the data used in the visualization for offline analysis. |
| View → Expanded | Opens the widget in an expanded view for a larger and clearer visualization. |
| Clear Cache & Refresh | Refreshes the widget data and clears any cached results to display the most up-to-date information. |
Download Widget Data
The Download data option allows you to export the data used in a widget for offline analysis.
When you select Download data, a download dialog appears where you can choose the file format.
Available formats include:
- Excel Spreadsheet (.xlsx) – Recommended for spreadsheet analysis
- TXT (tab-separated values)
- CSV
- JSON
- HTML
- Markdown
- PNG (Image of Visualization)
After selecting the desired format, click Download to export the data. The file will be saved to your system’s Downloads folder.
This feature allows users to analyze widget data externally, share reports, or store records for further use.
Steps
- Open the required dashboard.
- Locate the widget from which you want to download data.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the widget.
- Click Download data. The Download dialog box is displayed.
- Select the format from the Format drop-down list.
- Click Download. The file will be downloaded to your system’s Downloads folder.
View Widget in Expanded Mode
The Expanded option allows you to view the widget in a larger format for better visibility and analysis.
Steps
- Open the required dashboard.
- Locate the widget you want to view in detail.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the widget.
- Select View → Expanded.
- The widget will open in an expanded view, allowing you to analyze the visualization more clearly.
Clear Cache & Refresh
The Clear Cache & Refresh option reloads the widget data.
When to use
- Data appears outdated
- Recent updates are not reflected
- Widget fails to load correctly
The system clears cached data and refreshes the widget with the latest information.
