Overview
This article explains why certain subscriptions renewed with an unexpected pricing change and outlines how to identify affected subscriptions and prevent the issue going forward.
Issue
Upon renewal, some customer subscriptions (e.g., Numatic International BV and Uzin Utz Tools GmbH & Co. KG) renewed at 0.9274 EUR instead of the expected 1.00 EUR list price.
Root Cause
After internal review, it was confirmed that:
Auto-renewals do not modify the list price.
Manual renewals may unintentionally change the list price depending on how the renewal was performed in the UI.
This issue occurs only in manual renewal scenarios, not automatic renewals.
Engineering Status
An internal Engineering task has been created to correct this behavior:
Goal: Ensure the list price remains unchanged during manual renewals going forward.
Status: In progress.
How to Identify Other Impacted Renewals
To locate renewals where the list price may have been incorrectly adjusted:
Run a Subscriptions or Renewal report including:
Customer Name
Subscription ID
Renewal Date
List Price Before Renewal
List Price After Renewal
Filter for subscriptions where:
List Price Before ≠ List Price After, and
Renewal Type = Manual
This will surface subscriptions that may need correction.
Temporary Workaround (Until Engineering Fix Is Released)
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | When performing a manual renewal, review the list price field prior to saving. |
| 2 | If the value does not match the expected rate, manually update it to the intended price. |
| 3 | Save the renewal. |
This ensures billing accuracy while the fix is being implemented.
Preventive Guidance
| Action | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Use auto-renewals whenever possible | Prevents list price changes entirely |
| Review renewal pricing before saving | Ensures correct pricing is maintained |
| Monitor renewal reports monthly | Detects discrepancies early |
