Issue
Charges that were previously billed appear again on a later invoice.
Cause
A subscription change can result in new Billing Schedules being created. If existing Billing Schedule Lines remain uninvoiced, they may still be eligible for a future Billing Run.
In this scenario:
- A subscription change was performed, including an update to the Contract Effective Date.
- The change resulted in the creation of new Billing Schedules.
- Billing lines from the previous Billing Schedules remained available for invoicing.
- These remaining lines were subsequently picked up by a Billing Run, causing the charges to appear again.
Resolution
If the remaining Billing Schedule Lines should not be billed:
- Navigate to the applicable Billing Schedule.
- Locate the uninvoiced Billing Schedule Line.
- Delete the applicable line that should not be invoiced again.
- Save the Billing Schedule.
Key Takeaway
When a subscription change creates new Billing Schedules, review the existing Billing Schedules for any remaining uninvoiced lines to prevent unintended billing.
